As we co-ordinate plans to support the Caribbean during the hurricane season and beyond, the Caribbean Skills Bank (CSB) is seeking participants and volunteers from our professional Diaspora communities to register your details via our registration database. This process will be made available to emergency services, NGOs and Caribbean bodies wishing to source suitable applicants wishing to help the Caribbean, if the need arises. We have met legal privacy requirements and we are fully GDPR compliant, so your details will be protected. We do not need any personal information beyond a contact email as our main focus will be to tap the essential skills you have to offer.
So, we would be delighted if you could provide details of your skills and other attributes which you believe the Caribbean will benefit from during an emergency operation e.g. post-disaster management and support for medium to long-term infrastructural needs.
We have provided some general information below to act as a guide during the registration process. Part of the CSB mandate, agreed with our UK partners, is to encourage registrants for short, medium and long-term support. Here are the key points to consider:
- Abilities/skills in crisis, disaster and infrastructure management, safety and recovery control, local co-ordination, innovative and entrepreneurial skills in poverty reduction;
- Support joint venture, development and commercial projects and work with the Caribbean region and Diaspora communities:
- Assist in improving the competitiveness of Caribbean businesses, civic societies and other organisations to stimulate the region’s economic growth.
If you have any questions or would like more information regarding the registration process or experiencing any technical problems with registering, please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your interest.
